Believe, Become, and Behave, or Believe, Behave, and Become?

Believe, Become, and Behave or Believe, Behave, and Become?

When I asked myself this question, I thought about what took place when I first became a Christian? Before I became a Christian, I had to believe there was a Christ. Once I heard the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, it left such a conviction upon me that I knew that God was real, and I knew that his power was real, so I began to believe in God, his power, and the Holy Bible. After believing, I began to allow the holy spirit to transform my mind and that transformation caused me to become a Christian! After the holy spirit transformed my mind, and my soul, I naturally wanted my body to line up with the word of God. I no longer wanted to please myself, but, pleasing the Lord and behaving the way God wanted me to, was my daily goal. Now, I can conclude that one must believe first, then they become a Christian, and once they become a Christian, they will want their behavior to line up with the word of God. Would you agree that some of us Christians treat growing in Christ as an attempt to become someone different rather than a continual and growing realization that we’ve already become different? I’m excited to hear your thoughts on the subject of believe, become, and behave, or believe, behave, and then become. Minnie L Douglas
